When I got up this is what greeted me in the kitchen. It was a beautiful sunny day, but cool for our area. As the sun came up, the snow started to melt. Karen & I met Sheila for lunch at Earls. Appetizers and Caesar salad made the meal.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow …..
Feb 25: Here it is the end of Feb, the bulbs are poking their heads up and some of the trees are starting to have little flower buds on them. We have had rain for the last 2 days which didn’t bother us at all as we were home just puttering. Last night the weatherman made some reference to snow at the higher elevations and further east from us, so no worries, right ….. Wrong. We woke up to gray skies and heavy rain. Karen and I headed out at 9:30 in the rain and headed home 2 hours later and it was snowing like a son of a gun! We we happy to get home before it got any worse and it did. I figured for the next 3 hours it came down at the rate of just over an inch/hour.
Karen went out the front door to snap some shots and said it was so quiet! Here are a few shots that she took.
The crocus poking their heads out of the snow.
The little tree in the neighbour’s yard.
The beautiful tree in Rudy’s front yard. You can see how hard the snow is falling.
Have a great day

Painted Canvas
Feb 24: Karen and I played with canvas for the first time last week. We finished it off with a vinyl saying that was definitely a challenge to get off the paper and get it to adhere to the canvas! I have to say if this was my first attempt with Vinyl I would not venture using it again. I guess between the porous canvas and the paint splatters the adhesive wasn’t adhering well. But I love the look of the finished product! This is a picture of Karen’s canvas. You can just see the corner of mine on the table.

Minkies in Progress
Feb 23: I’m am finishing up the Minkie for Kaitlyn and the 2 dolly blankets. Just a little hand sewing needed now and they will be ready for Karen to pack to send home.
We looked outside and found that Art had moved the roses from the outside porch where we put them, to stuffing them in the garden.
Have a great day

Christmas Cactus
Feb 22: In the back bedroom Sheila’s Christmas Cactus is in bloom, the plant is over 25 years old! I believe this plant used to belong to her Mom. I have had the plant around 6 or 7 years. Sheila comes every now and then and breaks off branches and starts new plants

Silly Squirrel
Feb 21: I came out to the kitchen and out the window this silly squirrel was hanging upside down on the bird feeder that has the suet in it. Karen opened the door and spoke with him and he moved to the top of the feeder bar and then decided it was time to go and he was off. No sooner did Karen close and lock the door, that squirrel was back to the feeder, hanging upside down!

Eagles
Feb 19: Karen and I were driving home and we spotted an eagle in a tree not far from the road. We stopped for a picture and I’m sure we weren’t more than 30-40 feet from the tree. Once we stopped we notice the surrounding trees and their had to have been around 10-12 more eagles in the trees. It was quite a sight.
These were 2 shots Karen took.

Alex Fraser Bridge
Feb 18: Karen tagged along with me when I went to get my hair cut. While I was getting my nails done and hair cut, she spent the time listening to a book and knitting a little on a scarf. This picture is the Alex Fraser bridge we drove over on the way to New Westminster, I love the cable configuration on this bridge.

Spring Flowers Coming
Feb 17: Today was a beautiful and we watched an amazing sunset! (Sorry no picture of that). We had checked earlier this week and there was no evidence of bulbs, but today when we looked there are signs of spring here in BC! Yeah!

Play Date Cancelled
Feb 16: Gloria had to cancel our play date as she is down with a cold and didn’t want to share her germs! No problem, we found out yesterday afternoon that the class we thought was on Tuesday (by my calendar) was actually tonight! We do seem to be having a problem with our schedule! Oh well, it all works out.
Our class tonight was Scrapology 6 – they have been doing these classes based on using sketches as a starting point. They have been well received and always well attended. Our class had about 20 students. Someone always comments on Karen’s adhesive gun and tonight was no different!
We had to leave before the class was over as Karen couldn’t sit there any longer, but Stacey was kind enough to give me the instructions for the last page.

Relaxing Sunday at Home
Feb 15: We had a nice relaxing day at home. John came over and helped Art uncover the fish pond, boy were they excited to see daylight and people after the long winter of being covered up.
We made a boneless leg of lamb for dinner and Karen had Pat send the recipe for the marinade that they have used for years. We got that all set just after breakfast.
Later in the day, after the lamb had been in the oven for awhile, the house was filled with wonderful smells! Our dinner include steamed potatoes, a mix of peas & corn and of course gravy!
Have a great day!
